I saw Shawn’s stuff at ArtFalls this weekend. It is a great combination of found objects, comic books, collage and mixed media.

“RANT: Anonymous bloggers spewing venom and criticism don’t merit newspaper space, particularly when they attack other people. This is not free speech. It is a license to slander others behind the verbal equivalent of a white hood. Readers deserve better.”

This was from the RANTS & RAVES in the Argus today. Made me laugh, the person who said this is a trial lawyer. I heard she is quite the bulldog in the courtroom to. She may be correct about ‘some people’ in her statement, but comparing bloggers to the KKK is a little over the top. Of course, we know what they say about lawyers . . .

The extra crispy is Devilish. Menlo Park Basketball Court. I think it will be funny if they catch this guy. I’m gonna go to the Argus Leader in my underware and scream ‘I told you I didn’t do it!’

I just got a tip from someone who viewed the actual audit of the Pavilion. They told me they are being misleading in their statements.

Their actual loss was around $550,000. The $86,000 is incorrect because they are including ‘net assets’ into the equation. Any accountant will tell you that the ‘net assets’ and profit and loss from year to year have nothing to do with each other.

The Pavilion is basically counting toilet paper rolls and subtracting there value from the money they lost the year before.

I think if this is true, it is misleading the public. And like I have said in the past I support the Pavilion, if they are being honest about their operations, which I think they are not.

I cannot reveal my source, but the person told me that anyone can request the audit from the Pavilion to see for themselves.

I thought it would be worth investigating.

Artist Terry Redlin (aka, ART PIRATE to retire)

By Associated Press

WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) – Artist Terry Redlin is putting away his paintbrush and pen.
On Wednesday, he announced his retirement from painting and print signing.

Beginning with the 1977 release of “Winter Snows,” Redlin enthusiasts have collected more than 2 million art prints as well as collectibles and home decor products carrying his painted images of rural America.

“America’s rural past, in my eyes, was a wonderful place full of both beauty and opportunity. How fortunate I’ve been to spend my life creating memories of those distant times for others to enjoy,” said Redlin, 69, who plans to live at Watertown, home to the Terry Redlin Art Center.
