Trust me, my disdain for the media is ever intensifying. This is supposed to be a picture of a Pakistani rioting in the streets. Was the cameraman high? I guess in Pakistan, rioting means dancing around campfires. Huh?

A few weeks ago I ranted about Tim Kant’s objection to the opening of a dance and live music club called ARRIVE, directly across the street from his establishment. Many couldn’t figure out why he would be against it, because it could actually help his business! And, more importantly, why does downtown SF allow Kant to run the show?!

Well the rumors are flying now, and like I said, they are rumors, and that’s where I need your help to blow the lid off of this story.

It has been said that Kant was opposed to ARRIVE because he is planning on opening a LIVE music club himself somewhere downtown along the river. If this is true, where? I have had a couple of guesses, but my strongest so far is on the main level of the 6-story glass building built on the old ZIP Feed site. It just seems obvious that Jeff Schergliscistsyltlasot and Mr. Kant would partner up on this deal, they are both very talented at duking the city.

Dear Scott, 

        The City Council was not involved in the hiring of Jodi Schwan
and will not be involved in any confirmation process.  This appointment
was totally at the discretion of the mayor.

        However, I am aware that Jodi was the mayor’s second choice.
His primary choice, a woman from Pierre, wanted $130,000.

I know, I already posted a cartoon of this Chief of staff fiasco, but I must continue. This has to be balls out one of the most arrogant, self-centered, best use of cronism by city hall I have seen in a long time.

I wonder how long it will take Jodi to get used to calling it Sioux Falls instead of KELOLAND?

Yeah, Jodi always through softballs at Munson. What surprises me is why wasn’t she started at $72,000, (the starting pay) and then reviewed in a year for a raise? Why the FUCK would Munson offer her $98,000 right off the bat? Like she would turn down $72,000 ($44,000 a year raise from her current job)? She has NO government experience, NONE! Sure she has credentials, but a lot of people do. Makes you wonder if there is a Monica Lewinsky thing going on?

And why was the council left out on this decision? At least shown resume’s with names blocked out or asked to submit questions that Dave could ask. This decision was made a LONG time ago, and nothing was going to stop good old crooked, lying Dave. I think it has a lot more to do with the tight knit group of SD GOP and the wealthy Schwann Family that Jodi comes from.

This whole matter stinks, we can only hope her and Munson get caught with their hands in the cookie jar and we can be rid of both of them!

 

This is an email I sent to my district’s councilor:

 

Mr. Staggers-

I have a few questions about the latest hiring of the Mayor’s chief of staff that I’m sure you can answer:

1) Were you or any of the council members shown the resume’s of the people that were applying for the position? Even resume’s with the identities blocked out? And if not, Why?

2) Did the Mayor ask you or any of the council members to submit questions that could be asked of the perspective applicants? And if not, Why?

Time will tell if Jodi is right for the position, but what concerns me is the way she was so secretly hired, I felt the City Council should have played a bigger role. I also believe her salary is out of line with her experience.
