Acrylic on canvas – 20 x 30″ – $500

This is a play on the American ‘War on Drugs’. The word ‘FEAR’ was created using the same typography from a $1 bill the image of George also comes from the $1 bill. Notice his swirling eyes and cannabis leaf shaped lip. ‘Four-Twenty’ refers to the LA police department’s code for a drug arrest. The ‘I GREW HEMP’ balloon is from a stamp that used to frequently be seen on circulating $1 bills. rumor has it that our founding fathers enjoyed ‘getting bent’ on occasion. Hemp was a main textile used in colonial days. USS Constitution’s original sails were made from hemp. Cannabis was not made illegal in the U.S. until the mid 20th century.
