U.S. Sen. James Abourezk was interviewed by Argus Leader reporter, David Kranz.

I like Jim. If you go to lunch at Saana’s, his wife’s restaurant, you may run into him. He has one of the sharpest political sense of humors I have ever heard. I enjoy conversing with him. Saana’s food ain’t bad either, one of my favorite places to eat, her spicy Hummus dip is to kill for.

I think this line in the story pretty much sums up why we need to stop supporting Israel in the middle east. It is creating hatred towards Americans by Muslim’s across the world, and breaking off ties with Israel may help relations. We should try to be diplomatic with EVERYONE in the MidEast. For the record, I am a deist and don’t really care if you are Christian, Jewish or Muslim, I just think people need to get along regardless of their beliefs.

“Anytime anybody criticizes Israel’s policy in Palestine, the defense is that they are anti-Semite instead of arguing whether or not their policies are good or bad for America. They start calling people racists for just bringing up Israel’s policy,” Abourezk says. “What the Zionists like to do is get people off the subject of Israel’s brutality toward the Palestinians during their occupation, their illegal occupation.”
