I have always loved JazzFest, for a few reasons. Number one, it ususally falls on my birthday, July 20th, and I turn 35 this year. Also plenty of great local and national entertainment.

Here are some highlights:

– Limited edition of 200 giclee poster prints signed by yours truly (shown) at the merch stand ONLY $12!

– Derek Trucks and his wife Susan Tedeschi play the main stage on Friday (8:30 and 10 PM)

– JazzFest Poetry Tent on Saturday

7 PM Poetry Slam contest

– Second Stage on Saturday

Urban Blues featuring Jesse Christen 8 PM

– Main Stage on Saturday

I’m not going to take sides on this issue, because I don’t know enough about what happened to do so, but the pissing match between Greg and Patrick is well worth the read if you start from the beginning. As I have mentioned before on my blog, Greg has trouble understanding blogs and the internets, he takes what people write on the forums too seriously, then turns around and does the same on his blog. I’m not defending Patrick either, I agree with Greg in some respects, find out the whole story first. BUT in all fairness, who knows what the whole story is? Greg seems to be taking Munson’s word on it? LOL! I would’nt trust that guy with a $2 bill!

The Visual Arts Commission has had 2 empty seats for almost two years, about the same time I received my application confirmation. They would rather have 2 empty seats then ask me serve. No surprise, I would probably be the Kermit Staggers of the VAC, or quite the opposite.

He refuses to talk about the connection, and the Governor claims he has no connection, but it makes one wonder if he created this Faux News organization to spread propaganda about how great Gov. Marion is?

This will be an interesting story as it unfolds.
