I think Johnny Mahr had a little to do with it. The band really had it together this time and former SMITHS, guitarist really added a lot. The only complaint I would have is that Modest Mouse has two many musicians, they could easily be a 4-5 piece band and still Rock.

I finally checked my stats for my site:

Best Month – February, 2007: 37,000 Hits

Average Daily Hits: 850-1000

I tempered the canvas a few more times, and have begun the collaging. After I am done with the collage, I will temper it more, and maybe paint around the collage a bit.

There will be a Peace Rally this Sunday at 1 PM in front of the Federal Courthouse – anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Michelle’s coffee house will be having a Peace Rally art exhibit at her place at 3 PM. Joy Crane, me and some other artists will have work on display.

In fact, that’s the name of the game. My friend Scott (who is an amazing graphic designer) said to me once “Only about 1% of graphic designer’s are talented, and the other 99% steal from them.” It couldn’t be more truthful.

But this one made me laugh. KSFY started a new segment called “For You Fridays” their logo is a blatant rip-off of Krispy Kreme. Made me laugh.

This is called tempering the canvas. It is something I learned from Sante Fe pop artist Patrick Harris. Patrick is originally from SF and had a show and workshop at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center. The process basically involves putting down several layers of color and gesso, and after each layer dries, you scrape or wash away ‘some’ of the color. This is the first layer. I’m not sure how many I will put down before I start painting the final image. I will probably do the collage next, so I will try to stay away from wasting paint in the collage areas.
